Sports have changed over time.
At first, deadly competitions gave way to events in which rules and technological advances were designed to protect competitors from serious injury. Eventually, robots replaced athletes and engineers became the new competitors. As time went on, the popular appeal of spectacular conflict as entertainment led to a form of mechanical combat in which the tools of disaster became bigger, faster, and more devastating. The near future is the era of . . . Diecast Demolition.
Competitors design armed and armored vehicles, putting their trained robots behind the wheel for competitions of motorized mayhem. The game itself is resolved with less advanced technology, using toy cars, rulers and protractors, and six-sided dice.
